New Online Banking Security Feature
The protection of your information is very important to us. We are pleased to announce an added login security feature that helps guard your online information by adding another layer of identity verification to online financial interactions. With this new security feature, members verify their identity using a one-time verification code sent by text or voice call. This security practice—also known as multi-factor authentication (MFA) or one-time passcode (OTP) is widely used and familiar to many members through other apps and websites.
How does the new security feature work?
When logging into online banking via a computer or mobile app, you will receive a message (text or voice) on your phone with a 6‑digit code. You will be asked to enter this code to complete the login process. This feature takes the place of answering security questions when logging into online banking.
What will you experience at your first login?
At the first login after the security feature is enabled on May 21st, you will be guided through a one-time setup process:
- Enter your current username and security code (password)
- Choose whether to receive verification codes by text message or voice call
- Confirm your phone number
- Receive and enter a 6-digit verification code
- Successfully access Online Banking
What do I need to do?
Please update your phone numbers in your Online Banking profile or contact us and provide your cell phone or direct phone number. You can call us directly during regular business hours at (716) 896-8084.
